Mundane Hauntings

Mundane Hauntings emerged from my time during the inaugural Arts and Science Residency held at the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station in Norris Point, NL. The work considers how human activity persists within the landscape through subtle and often overlooked traces. Combining watercolour with drypoint etching, I intentionally disrupt the painted surface using intaglio printmaking methods. As the paper is soaked prior to printing, the watercolour image begins to erode and shift. Through this process the present becomes unstable while older histories remain more fixed and vivid in the etched line. I am interested in how landscapes function as quiet archives shaped by movement, and time.

Mundane Hauntings is an ongoing body of work. The first works from the series are scheduled for exhibition between June and November 2026 at the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station.
